Aramco boosts proven reserves at Jafurah unconventional field in Saudi Arabia

Aramco, a global integrated energy and chemicals company, has increased the proven gas and condensate reserves at the Jafurah unconventional field in Saudi Arabia. The company has booked 15 trillion standard cubic feet (scf) of raw gas and two billion stock tank barrels (STB) of condensate as proven reserves at Jafurah. The total resource at Jafurah is estimated to be 229 trillion scf of raw gas and 75 billion STB of condensate. This estimation was achieved using a novel approach to shale reserve booking, marking the first application of such a method in the industry. The reserves were independently validated by industry consultancy DeGolyer and MacNaughton. Aramco plans to ramp up production at Jafurah to reach a sustainable sales gas rate of two billion scfd by 2030, along with significant volumes of ethane, Natural Gas Liquids (NGL), and condensate.
