ARCO welcomes Saudi Arabia's declaration about the recognition of the Palestinian state by European states.

In Leipzig, Germany May 22, 2024 Umberto des Pretto, General-Secretary of the International Road Federation was met by Mr. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, The Minister of Transport and Logistics. This was quite an extensive meeting which discussed various traffic safety related issues.


Eng. Al-Jasser also met with Federation International Automobile Secretary-General Jacob Bangsgaard to discuss cooperation matters.



On May 22, 2024, in Leipzig, Germany, on the fringes of the International Transport Forum, IRF Secretary-General Umberto de Pretto met with Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser. Leipzig was the venue of the meeting. Everyone talked about a variety of topics related to road safety.


In addition, Eng. Al-Jasser met with the FIA's Secretary-General, Jacob Bangsgaard, to discuss possibilities of collaborations in the field of sustainable transport.


 The Secretary General of ARCO, Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Tuwaijri, stressed that Saudi Arabia's statement mirrors both its unwavering regional and international efforts to uphold the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state on the occupied Palestinian territories, with east Jerusalem as its capital, and its continuous commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause.


 He conveyed the organization's appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its substantial and continuous humanitarian aid, which supports its diplomatic initiatives to lessen the suffering Palestinians have been subjected to in their territories since the start of the Israeli occupation.


 Al-Tuwaijri stressed that it is a legitimate and reasonable demand for the Palestinian people to be able to live on their land under the protection of a fully sovereign Palestinian state.


 He highlighted how the United Nations' international resolutions and governmental and non-governmental groups working to uphold human rights and execute international humanitarian law have strengthened this right.
