Aseer Region Border Guards Foil Attempt to Smuggle 220 Kg of Khat


Abha, October 01, 2024 – In a successful operation, Border Guard land patrols in the Aseer region have thwarted an attempt to smuggle 220 kilograms of khat, a narcotic substance. This decisive action highlights the ongoing efforts by Saudi authorities to combat drug trafficking and protect the security of the Kingdom. Following the interception, legal measures were promptly taken, and the seized khat was handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and processing.



The Kingdom’s security forces remain vigilant in their fight against the illegal drug trade, and this recent operation underscores their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country’s borders. In line with these efforts, Saudi security authorities are calling on the public to play an active role in combating drug smuggling.
