Hong Kong, September 18, 2023, The Associated Press reported that Monday saw a decline in shares in Asia. While oil prices rose, Tokyo's markets were shut for a national holiday. The Hang Seng index for Hong Kong dropped 1.0% to 17,996.74. The Kospi index decreased 0.4% to 2,574.72 in Seoul. S&P/ASX 200 Australia fell 0.7% to 7,230.40.
In other trades on Monday, New York Mercantile Exchange benchmark US crude oil rose 86 cents to $91.63 per barrel in electronic trading. On Friday, it increased 61 cents to $90.77 per barrel.
The benchmark price for international trade, Brent crude, was up 73 cents at $94.66 per barrel.
From 147.72 Japanese yen, the US dollar dropped to 147.59 yen. From $1.0666 to $1.0664, the euro fell.
