Hong Kong, April 09, 2024, According to the AP, Asia stocks showed mostly positive trends on Tuesday:
- Japan's Nikkei 225 rose by 0.8% in morning trading, reaching 39,562.94.
- The Hang Seng in Hong Kong experienced a second consecutive day of gains, increasing by 0.6% to 16,824.36. However, the Shanghai Composite Index slipped by 0.2% to 3,040.00.
- South Korea's Kospi saw a minor decline of 0.1%, settling at 2,714.68, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 index climbed by 0.6% to 7,832.10.
In the commodities market, Benchmark US crude oil rose by 14 cents to $86.57 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Meanwhile, Brent crude, the global benchmark, increased by 270 cents to $90.58 per barrel.
Regarding currency trading, the US dollar strengthened slightly against the Japanese yen, reaching 151.87 yen. This value is close to the 34-year high of 151.97 yen recorded in late March. The euro remained relatively stable, with a slight change from $1.0856 to $1.0858.
