Japan's Nikkei 225 index experienced a reversal from earlier losses, ultimately closing at 38,807.38, marking a gain of 0.3%. Conversely, Sydney's S&P/ASX 200 index slipped by 0.2% to reach 7,713.60, while Korea's Kospi index registered a 0.9% increase, reaching 2,718.76.
However, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index saw a decline of 0.9%, closing at 16,929.12, while the Shanghai Composite index fell by 0.2%, reaching 3,038.23.
In terms of energy trading, benchmark US crude oil prices witnessed an increase of 11 cents, reaching $79.83 per barrel. Similarly, Brent crude oil, the international standard, rose by 14 cents to reach $84.17 per barrel.
In currency markets, the US dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 147.96 yen from 147.74 yen. Conversely, the euro depreciated slightly, costing $1.0945, down from $1.0953.
