At the 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia, the Saudi MEWA Minister meets with counterparts from Kenya and Algeria.


- Saudi Arabia and Kenya agreed to continue official communication and Saudi Arabia accepted the invitation to host the next session of the World Water Forum. Riyadh will also host the 11th World Water Forum in 2027.
- Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, met with the Algerian minister of irrigation and the Kenyan minister of water, sanitation, and irrigation at the Tenth World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia.

- The Saudi and Algerian delegations, representing the Kingdom's establishment of the Global Water Organization and its achievements, underlined the mutual need for cooperation by both countries in combat against the problems related to water.


- Saudi Arabia accepted the invitation to host the World Water Forum's next meeting, and Kenya and Saudi Arabia decided to maintain formal communication. In 2027, Riyadh will also play home to the 11th World Water Forum.



On May 21, 2024, in Bali, Indonesia, the Algerian and Kenyan ministers of water, sanitation, and irrigation met with Eng. Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, the Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, and the leader of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the Tenth World Water Forum, which was held in Indonesia from May 18 to 24. Indonesia was the venue for the forum. In order to address difficulties linked to water, both the Algerian and Saudi governments stressed the significance of coordinating efforts at both the local and international levels. The discussion covered issues related to the Kingdom's establishment of the Global Water Organization. In addition, the aim of the experience sharing was to enhance research and development, technological expertise, innovation, and the best practices in managing water resources globally. The minister from Kenya and the Saudi Arabia representatives agreed to continue communicating through formal correspondence. The Kenyan minister expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for accepting the invitation to prepare the meeting for the next session of the World Water Forum. He further emphasized the importance of understanding the Kingdom's strategies in water management. Al-Fadley covered a host of issues, including preparation for the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties COP16 of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification UNCCD, to be held in Riyadh from December 2 to 13, 2024. The 11th World Water Forum, with the theme "Action for a Better Tomorrow," will take place in Riyadh in the year 2027.
