Dhahran, February 19, 2025, SPA – At the Al Ahsa Forum 2025, Saudi Aramco highlighted key investment opportunities across both the public and private sectors, further cementing its role as a catalyst for economic development in the Kingdom. Organized by the Al-Ahsa Chamber, the event brought together an esteemed gathering of ministers, officials, industry experts, consultants, and top executives from local and international companies. As the forum’s strategic partner, Saudi Aramco took center stage in showcasing its contribution to energy-sector investments and its broader impact on Saudi Arabia’s economic growth, particularly within the Al Ahsa region.

The forum serves as a vital platform to promote investment in Al Ahsa, an area that holds a unique historical and strategic significance to both the company and the Kingdom. Eng. Amin Hassan Al-Nasser, President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, delivered a powerful address underscoring the deep connection between the company and the region. He noted that Al Ahsa’s rich history, fertile land, and remarkable people have made it a cornerstone of Aramco’s operations, just as the company has become a key part of Al Ahsa’s industrial and economic landscape. For decades, the region has played host to some of Aramco’s most significant and impactful projects.

In his speech, Eng. Al-Nasser highlighted the recent expansion of Saudi Aramco’s mega projects in Al Ahsa, emphasizing the company’s ongoing efforts to generate new investment opportunities, create jobs, and fuel GDP growth in the region. One of the most notable developments in this regard is the Jafurah Field, which Al-Nasser described as the “crown jewel” of shale gas fields. As the largest shale gas field under development in the Middle East, Jafurah is poised to play a pivotal role in the Kingdom’s energy future.

Aramco’s investment in the Jafurah Field exceeds $100 billion over the next 15 years, a massive financial commitment that underscores the field’s importance to the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure. Eng. Al-Nasser noted that the Jafurah project is expected to contribute $23 billion annually to Saudi Arabia’s GDP, making it a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s economic diversification goals under Saudi Vision 2030. The project is expected to reach a production capacity of 2 billion standard cubic feet per day of marketable gas by 2030, significantly enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global leader in natural gas production.

In addition to highlighting Aramco’s investment in energy infrastructure, Eng. Al-Nasser also emphasized the company’s ongoing environmental efforts, which are integral to its broader strategy of sustainable development. He outlined Aramco’s commitment to environmental protection through a series of innovative initiatives, including its collaboration with King Faisal University to establish a Nature-Based Solutions Center. This partnership aims to foster research and development in areas such as environmental conservation and climate change mitigation.

Furthermore, Eng. Al-Nasser drew attention to Aramco’s groundbreaking research on mangrove trees in Saudi Arabia, a project that aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to the Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative. These initiatives highlight Aramco’s leadership in addressing climate change and its dedication to promoting environmental sustainability both locally and regionally.

The Al Ahsa Forum 2025 served as a significant opportunity for Saudi Aramco to not only showcase its ongoing projects and initiatives but also to strengthen its ties with stakeholders in the public and private sectors. As the company continues to drive investment in Al Ahsa and beyond, it plays a critical role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s future as a global energy leader while contributing to the Kingdom’s broader economic and environmental goals under Saudi Vision 2030.
