At the Grand Mosque, 500 civilian security guards ensure efficient pilgrim services and crowd control.

The General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque is committed to ensuring the safety of visitors to the Grand Mosque.

- About five hundred civilian security officers with training have been sent to help with crowd management and control.


- National teams have been delegated responsibilities such as monitoring security and safety operations, protecting property and individuals, and supervising public facility systems.



Makkah, June 11, 2024. Aligned with the mission vision of the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the Agency for Security, Safety, Emergency Response, and Risk Management is dedicated to delivering top-notch services to guarantee the safety of every guest visiting the Grand Mosque. The group has dispatched about 500 trained civilian security agents to assist with crowd control and management within the Grand Mosque.


 We are offering this support in coordination with the local authorities. In addition, the authority entrusted a number of tasks to national teams, which are also qualified and highly trained, such as monitoring safety and security schemes, providing protection over properties and individuals, and overseeing the systems of facilities provided to the public. This is in addition to the early monitoring of any risks, the effectiveness of firefighting systems, the periodic maintenance of fire extinguisher boxes and alarm devices available in the Grand Mosque, providing a safe way for pedestrians, and removing any obstacles that would hinder pilgrims from performing their rituals, and executing plans for the possible relocation of the weather, as well as preparing the entrances and corridors in the Grand Mosque.On the other hand, providing at least fifteen security monitors who speak six foreign languages fluently, in order to enable visitors to the Grand Mosque to perform their rituals without any obstacles. These languages are Sinhalese, Urdu, Hausa, Persian, English, and Turkish.
