In 2023, Audi achieved a global delivery milestone of around 1.9 million cars, marking a significant increase of over 17% compared to the previous year. Notably, the company delivered more than 178,000 fully electric Audi vehicles during the year, reflecting a remarkable surge of 51% compared to 2022. This surge in electric vehicle (EV) demand is considered a solid foundation for Audi's ongoing transformation with a strong emphasis on electromobility.
Hildegard Wortmann, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Audi, expressed gratitude to the international team and dealership partners for their efforts, stating, "We saw strong growth, particularly in our core markets of Europe, the USA, and China, while continuing to pick up speed in electrification."
Audi witnessed robust demand for its fully electric models in 2023, with more than 178,000 EVs delivered. The Audi Q4 e-tron, in particular, experienced significant demand, with deliveries increasing by 112%. The company is set to continue driving its transformation forward in 2024, with the world premiere of the Audi Q6 e-tron scheduled for the end of the first quarter. This model marks the debut of the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), specifically developed for electric models.
In the Middle East, Audi experienced impressive sales figures in 2023, with a 6% year-over-year increase. The Audi Q5 played a pivotal role in this success, accounting for a record-breaking 17% of total sales in the region. Notably, Audi's commitment to electric mobility is evident in the consistent rise of EV sales, which grew by a remarkable 73% compared to 2022. The e-tron GT contributed significantly to this growth, with sales rising by an impressive 61%. Audi Sport also achieved its highest sales ever in the Middle East in 2023, including S models, reaching a new benchmark of 13% of total sales.
Rene Koneberg, Audi Middle East Managing Director, expressed pride in the regional accomplishments and highlighted the dedication of partners, focus on exceptional customer experience, and the surge in EV and Audi Sport model sales. He stated, "We're thrilled by these achievements and ready to build upon them in 2024."
