Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Audi has introduced several enhancements to its RS Q e-tron rally prototype in preparation for its third participation in the Dakar Rally. The electric vehicle, equipped with a high-voltage battery and energy converter, will feature improvements aimed at safety, reliability, comfort, performance, and reduced maintenance times. Notable changes include enhanced safety measures to minimize peak vertical acceleration during jumps, improved reliability by addressing issues with stones between the rim bed and brake components, better acoustic shielding for driver comfort, and various weight optimizations. Audi aims to showcase the RS Q e-tron's capabilities and compete for top positions in the challenging Dakar Rally, demonstrating its commitment to electric mobility in motorsports. The innovations have been developed based on insights gained from previous Dakar Rally outings and rigorous testing to ensure optimal performance in the 2024 event.
