Audi Middle East unveils AI:RACE prototype, eco-friendly all-electric supercar

  • Both the racetrack and the road are intended uses for the all-electric prototype.

  • The Tomorrow Today show at the Museum of the Future will only host the model for two months.

  • Aiming for maximal effectiveness and potent performance, AI:RACE was designed.

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, Audi Middle East has introduced the acclaimed AI:RACE prototype vehicle, which represents the future of high performance, to the Middle East. The AI:RACE is a revolutionary concept that represents Audi's forward-thinking, innovative spirit and is a remarkable work of automotive engineering art. The Audi AI:RACE is an all-electric, high-performance supercar that promises to alter the future of transportation. It is sleek, potent, and environmentally responsible.

The Audi Vision GT, A6 Avant e-tron concept, Skysphere, A:I ME, and most recently the S1 Hoonitron are just a few of the historic models and concept cars that have been on exhibit in the Museum of the Future before the AI:RACE. The project, which is a part of the successful ongoing strategic partnership between Audi Middle East and the museum and is presently in its second year, aims to show museum visitors the future of mobility through a variety of intriguing Audi concept models. Later this year, more prototypes and concept automobiles are expected to be on exhibit.

The Audi AI Racing lacks complicated technologies for controlled driving or needless comfort elements because it was built for both racing tracks and paved roads. Instead, a distinctively formed, sliding inner monocoque shell that can be positioned in the middle for solo driving, providing a monoposto-style arrangement perfect for the racetrack, houses the driver's seat and cockpit. By using a novel by-wire system, the steering and pedals do not require a mechanical connection.

Three electric motors—one at the front and two in the middle, between the rear steering knuckles—make up the Audi AI:RACE's potent drivetrain. These motors may momentarily boost their combined power output to 570 kW for maximum acceleration, giving them a total power output of up to 500 kW. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a little over two seconds thanks to a torque output of up to 830 Nm, making it a true performance machine. With a design for charging at an 800-volt voltage, the battery can be fully charged in just 15 minutes and offers a range of more than 500 kilometers in one WLTP cycle.

The AI:RACE gives drivers an alternative by allowing them to cap their top speed in favor of range. It was designed for use on roads as well, with a focus on both maximum efficiency and tremendous performance. Audi Wireless Charging (AWC), which places a charging pad with an integrated coil under the vehicle while it is parked and is wired to the power source, is another option for charging the AI:RACE wirelessly. By doing this, an alternating magnetic field is produced, which produces an alternating voltage used to charge the vehicle.

The motorsport industry also has a significant impact on the car's exterior. Similar to a vintage sports automobile, the AI:RACE is 4.53 meters long, 2 meters wide, and just 1.15 meters tall. Additionally, it has a gently sloping roofline from the side, a nearly vertical rear window from the back, and a red band of lights that spans the rear. It also has a highly elevated rear diffuser that can be mechanically adjusted for more downforce, which is a design cue from motorsport. The AI:RACE's hood links the car's two prominent fenders from the front and drops sharply for the best aerodynamics.

"Bringing such unique and futuristic Audi models and concept cars to the region is an aim of ours, and this is a truly special moment for Audi and for car enthusiasts in the Middle East," said Carsten Bender, managing director of Audi Middle East. The car's appearance indicates not only how important the area is to us but also how committed we are to it and how well our cooperation with the Museum of the Future has worked. Audi's futuristic supercar, the AI:RACE, combines cutting-edge technology, breathtaking design, and thrilling performance. I welcome everyone to visit the Museum of the Future to experience AI:RACE firsthand.

Up until the end of June, AI:RACE can be seen at the Museum of the Future as a component of the "Tomorrow Today" exhibition.
