RIYADH, April 4, 2025: Saudi authorities conducted a series of drug-related arrests across the Kingdom, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday.
Border Guard land patrols in the Halat Ammar sector of the Tabuk region successfully intercepted an attempt to smuggle 352,275 amphetamine pills.
In the Al-Raboah sector of Asir, authorities detained two Ethiopian nationals in possession of 50 kg of qat, while another operation resulted in the arrest of four Ethiopians smuggling 120 kg of qat.
In the Al-Dayer sector of Jazan, an Ethiopian individual was caught with 155,400 regulated tablets, and another smuggling attempt involving 995 kg of qat was prevented.
The General Directorate of Narcotics Control apprehended a Pakistani resident in Riyadh for possessing 6.5 kg of methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu.
Additionally, two Saudi citizens were arrested in the Hail region for possessing 16,132 amphetamine tablets and 7.5 kg of hashish.
Preliminary legal procedures have been completed, and all confiscated substances have been handed over to the relevant authorities.
Officials have urged the public to report any drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 in other regions.
