Makkah, February 29, 2024, The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has announced the allocation of 10 wheelchair locations within the Grand Mosque during the upcoming blessed month of Ramadan. These designated locations will be distributed in the Eastern, Western, and Southern courtyards of the mosque.
To facilitate the movement of worshippers, the authority will provide wheelchair assistance services around the clock. Authorized personnel will be available to operate near five gates, namely Ajyad, Rawasi, Kudai, King Abdulaziz, and King Fahad. Additionally, wheelchair services will be available in designated areas on the ground floor and on the first level beside Al-Masa.
The initiative aims to enhance accessibility for older individuals and people with disabilities, providing them with free wheelchair services within the Tawaf area. This step aligns with the commitment to ensuring inclusivity and accommodating the needs of all worshippers during the special month of Ramadan at the Grand Mosque.
