Dammam, Saudi Arabia, 21 September 2023: Bahri, a world-renowned logistics and transportation provider, is proud to announce the conclusion of its role as a founding partner in the 4th Saudi Maritime Congress. His Excellency Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, attended the ceremony in Dammam and provided support.
At the Congress, Bahri reaffirmed its central role in fostering the expansion of the regional logistics sector and emphasized its support for international marine events. Eng. Ahmed Ali Alsubaey, Bahri CEO, gave the opening address at the Dhahran Expo-Dammam conference, highlighting the Kingdom's remarkable development toward becoming a world-leading maritime hub.
This conference is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the breadth and depth of the Saudi maritime sector to an international audience. The success of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 plans depends on the growth of its maritime and logistics industries. Bahri is focused on applying its knowledge to help the industry grow in the Kingdom and around the world, as AlSubaey put it. Bahri's dedication to decarbonization, technological and digital innovation, education, and equipping the next generation of talent with the skills they'll need was also underlined.
In order to expand their respective offerings in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahri and SAIL, a subsidiary of the Saudi Investment Recycling firm (SIRC), a firm controlled by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the congress. The partners in this alliance hope to promote the sharing of knowledge and expertise amongst their respective organizations in order to aid in the growth of the maritime sector and the delivery of technical assistance.
Remembering the brave
A letter of commendation from the International Maritime Organization was presented to the captain and crew of Bahri's oil-chemical tanker NCC NAJEM during the conference for their heroic efforts to rescue 35 people from a capsized boat in the Strait of Malacca, not far from the Malaysian coast.
The Saudi marine Congress attracts more marine and logistics professionals than any other event in the Kingdom. Over 120+ major exhibitors from main areas of the marine industry including shipping, shipbuilding, artificial intelligence, port and terminal management, and finance will be present at the event, providing participants with the opportunity to meet, network, and conduct business with these professionals.
