Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – 29 February 2024: Bahri Desalination, a specialized business unit of the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri), has achieved a new milestone by establishing the largest floating desalination plant on a marine barge. The innovative mobile seawater desalination plant was officially recognized by Guinness World Records, measuring an impressive 123 meters in length with a daily output of 50,000 cubic meters. The project is a collaboration between Bahri, the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), and Metito Saudi Limited. The record highlights Bahri's commitment to developing large-capacity, mobile seawater desalination solutions to strengthen Saudi Arabia's infrastructure and self-sufficiency.
