Porto-Novo, February 20, 2024, The President of the National Assembly of Benin, Gbèhounou Louis Vlavonou, engaged in a meeting today with a delegation from the Saudi-Beninese Shura Council Parliamentary Friendship Committee. The delegation, led by Acting Chairman Dr. Abdullah Al-Salama, is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Benin.
During the meeting, held at the assembly headquarters in Porto-Novo, discussions were focused on strengthening relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Benin, with a particular emphasis on parliamentary ties between the Shura Council and the National Assembly. The Chairperson of the Beninese-Saudi Friendship Committee in the National Assembly, Sophia Haroun, also participated in the meeting.
Dr. Al-Salama highlighted the significance of the visit in contributing to the enhancement of relations between the two countries, specifically in the parliamentary realm. The discussions encompassed various parliamentary issues, with a shared commitment to reinforcing the work of the parliamentary friendship committee, reflecting the mutual interest in fostering collaboration and understanding between Saudi Arabia and Benin.
