Border Guard thwarts 1,693 kg hashish smuggling in Sharurah, Najran

Najran, December 28, 2023, Colonel Misfer Al-Quraini, the Official Spokesman of the Border Guard, has announced that vigilant land patrols in the Sharurah Governorate of the Najran region successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle a substantial 1,693 kilograms of hashish. In a press release, Al-Quraini confirmed the apprehension of those involved in the illicit activity, which included one Yemeni national and two citizens. Stringent legal measures have been initiated, and the seized contraband has been handed over to the competent authority for further action.

The security agencies are urging the public to actively contribute to the fight against drug smuggling and trafficking by promptly reporting any relevant information. Citizens are encouraged to utilize emergency hotlines such as 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions. It is emphasized that all reports will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
