Abha - In a commendable display of vigilance, the Border Guards' land patrols operating in the Asir Region successfully foiled an audacious attempt to smuggle a staggering quantity of 57,600 prescription pills. After the completion of the initial regulatory procedures, the seized items were duly transferred to the appropriate competent authority.

In a bid to combat the rampant issue of drug smuggling and selling, security authorities have issued a public appeal, urging citizens to come forward with any pertinent information. The authorities have designated emergency hotlines: 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions, and 999 in all other regions across the Kingdom. This move aims to encourage active participation from the public in the fight against the illicit drug trade. In addition, individuals can reach out to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at the hotline number 995 or via email at [email protected]. Strict confidentiality will be maintained for all reports.
