On September 19, 2024, search and rescue teams from the Border Guard in Jeddah Governorate successfully rescued two citizens from drowning while they were swimming. Following their rescue, the individuals received immediate medical assistance and first aid. The General Directorate of Border Guard urged vacationers to exercise caution and adhere to marine safety regulations, advising swimmers to remain within designated areas. They also reminded the public to contact emergency services at 911 (for the Makkah and Eastern regions) or 994 (for other regions) in case of emergencies.
