MG, the British-born automotive brand, is expanding its lineup of sedans and SUVs in the Middle East with the launch of the all-new MG Whale SUV Coupe. This sporty mid-size SUV is designed to cater to the travel requirements of younger buyers, ambitious professionals, and families residing in urban environments but seeking adventure in their lives.
The MG Whale SUV Coupe features a futuristic design with a daring coupe-like silhouette, embodying the youthful and progressive spirit of urban dwellers in the region. Inspired by the whale, the SUV incorporates marine-related details, including a signature front grille, Baleen daytime running lamps, Whale-fin door mirrors, and a Whale-tail spoiler and gearshift.
Additional design elements such as a two-tone glossy black roof, matte gold bumper accents, chrome dual exhaust pipes, and silver decoration contribute to the visual appeal. The SUV rides on stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, emphasizing its stylistic dominance.
The interior of the SUV Coupe offers a well-laid-out, premium-quality cabin with features such as electric seat adjustments with memory seats, dual-zone air conditioning, and a power-operated panoramic sunroof. Passengers can stay entertained and connected with features like the 9-speaker BOSE sound system, 256-color ambient lighting setup, and dual 12.3-inch Curved Panoramic Screen.
In terms of safety, the MG Whale is equipped with a comprehensive list of features, including an HD 360° surround view system and various active and passive safety features. The SUV is built on a high-strength chassis structure, ensuring maximum protection and dynamic advantage.
Powering the SUV Coupe is a robust 2.0L turbocharged engine producing 231 HP and 370 Nm torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The combination of forced induction and a modern transmission aims to provide efficient performance and minimize fuel consumption.
Tom Lee, Managing Director of MG Motor’s Middle East operations, expressed excitement about the new model, stating that the MG Whale reflects power and grace in its design lines. He highlighted the exceptional comfort options offered at an affordable package, addressing the demands and needs of customers in the Middle East.
The starting price for the MG Whale is USD 23,700 (excluding taxes), and specific market prices will be announced shortly. The all-new MG Whale models will be covered by the brand's six-year/200,000 km warranty.
