Gitega, October 30, 2023, The President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye, hosted Saudi Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir during his official visit. Al-Jubeir conveyed greetings from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and in response, President Ndayishimiye extended his appreciation. The meeting covered various shared interests, and Al-Jubeir expressed gratitude for Burundi's support for Saudi initiatives, including hosting World Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup™. Ambassador Khalid bin Musaed Al-Anqari also attended the meeting.
