Riyadh, September 5, 2023, The value-added tax (VAT) facilities in the business sector have been urged to submit their VAT accounts for the month of August by September 10 to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). In order to avoid a fine of at least 5% and as much as 25% of the tax owed, ZATCA asked these facilities to submit their tax statements via the zatca.gov.sa website or to pay via the ZATCA smartphone application as soon as possible. The authority urged taxpayers in the commercial sector who wanted more information on VAT to get in touch with it by calling the call center's unified number 19993, which is open 24/7, by emailing [email protected], using Twitter @ Zatca_Care, or by using the Instant Chat Feature on the authority's website, zatca.gov.sa.
With a few exceptions, all products and services acquired and supplied by most institutions are subject to VAT, an indirect tax.
