Cameroon's Islamic Center launches Ramadan dates and Iftar program

Yaounde, March 15, 2024, The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Islamic Center in Cameroon, launched the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Gift Programs for Distributing Dates and Iftar during Ramadan on Wednesday.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Yaounde, saw the presence of Khaled Al Munif, the Saudi Deputy Ambassador to Cameroon, along with other dignitaries, heads of Islamic societies in Cameroon, and ambassadors from Arab and Islamic nations.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Islamic Center in Yaounde will host daily Iftar banquets for over 1000 fasting individuals, as well as dispatching Iftar meals to inmates in the central prison. This Iftar program will extend to various regions across Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, and Nigeria.

A total of five tons of dates have been earmarked for the program, benefiting upwards of 60,000 individuals.
