CDF Showcases Diverse Solutions for Filmmakers at Saudi Film Confex 2024

Established in 2021, the CDF aims to support and develop the cultural sector in Saudi Arabia, facilitating investments and enhancing profitability to align with the objectives of the National Strategy for Culture and Saudi Vision 2030.
The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) is participating in the second annual Saudi Film Confex from October 9 to 12 in Riyadh, organized by the Film Commission under the patronage of Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan.

Riyadh, October 9, 2024 — The Cultural Development Fund (CDF) has officially announced its participation in the second annual Saudi Film Confex, taking place from October 9 to 12 in Riyadh. This significant event is organized by the Film Commission under the esteemed patronage of Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, who also chairs both the Film Commission and the CDF’s board of directors.


The Saudi Film Confex aims to empower and develop the film industry within the Kingdom, providing a platform to enhance investment opportunities and foster partnerships that will contribute to building a sustainable future for the sector. This year’s edition promises to be particularly vibrant, featuring participation from 120 entities representing 25 countries, showcasing the growing international interest in Saudi cinema.


Attendees can look forward to an extensive exhibition that highlights leading local, regional, and global companies, offering insights into key opportunities and innovations in the film sector. In addition, a specialized conference will delve into various aspects of the film industry, addressing topics such as production techniques, distribution strategies, and the integration of technology in filmmaking.


The CDF, established in 2021 as a developmental fund linked to the National Development Fund (NDF), plays a pivotal role in advancing the cultural sector in Saudi Arabia. Its mission encompasses supporting cultural activities and projects, facilitating investment in the cultural realm, and enhancing the profitability of the sector.
