Riyadh, February 21, 2024, Eng. Maher Al-Gothmi, CEO of the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority, held a meeting with Dr. Grethel Aguilar, Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). During the meeting, they discussed strengthening future cooperation to achieve the shared goals outlined in the strategic targets for the royal reserves by 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.
Both parties commended the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve for its impressive environmental achievements since its establishment, including accomplishments in 2023. These achievements were recognized for adhering to stringent international standards in line with the policies of the IUCN.
The cooperation between the King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority and the IUCN was further reinforced by the authority's membership in the IUCN, which took place in September 2022. This collaboration reflects the commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development in line with global standards and initiatives.
