The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), alongside key partners, launched the LogisTech Challenge to drive technological innovation in Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector, enhancing efficiency and supporting the digital economy.

Riyadh, November 12, 2024 – In a dynamic effort to drive innovation and enhance efficiencies in Saudi Arabia’s logistics sector, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has launched the LogisTech Challenge through its Center of Digital Entrepreneurship (CODE). This initiative, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, the Transport General Authority, and partners Infinite pl and Logistics, is designed to spark the development of advanced technological solutions that improve logistics operations, efficiency, and productivity. This challenge aligns with the Kingdom’s commitment to bolstering its digital economy and supporting innovation across key industries.

The challenge is open to logistics technology enthusiasts, industry experts, and decision-makers looking to pioneer new solutions in the sector. Registration is currently underway and will close on December 5. Applicants will go through several key phases, beginning with acceptance and business model development, followed by a comprehensive training bootcamp. Participants will then present their projects to a panel of judges in a final event on January 21. The projects that demonstrate the most impactful solutions will be recognized in a final awards ceremony, providing a platform to showcase innovation and problem-solving tailored to the unique needs of the logistics industry.

The LogisTech Challenge highlights three specific focus areas: fleet improvement and sustainability, alternative delivery and commerce solutions, and data-driven logistics intelligence. These areas were selected to address critical operational needs in the sector and support the national vision of sustainable and technology-enabled logistics.

To ensure that participants are well-equipped for success, the challenge offers over 20 targeted training programs and mentorship sessions. More than 250 participants will have access to these resources, gaining hands-on guidance to refine their ideas and transform them into viable prototypes. This support ecosystem is structured to cultivate creativity, strengthen technical skills, and encourage the application of innovative thinking in real-world scenarios.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology encourages all interested individuals to seize this opportunity to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s logistics future.
