Riyadh, October 02, 2023, The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission recently entered into an executive program with China's National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA). This collaboration encompasses translation, literature, and publishing initiatives, specifically focusing on translating significant classic literature works from Arabic to Chinese and vice versa. These translated works will be published in both countries, fostering cultural exchange.
The formal signing of this executive program took place at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2023, an event organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission under the theme "Inspirational Destination" at King Saud University in Riyadh, spanning from September 28 to October 7.
Representing the Saudi side, Hamed bin Mohammed Fayez, Deputy Minister of Culture and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission, executed the agreement. On the Chinese side, Zhang Jianchun, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, represented their interests.
The program's overarching aim is to foster cultural bridges, enhance content enrichment, and fortify literary cooperation between the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission and China's National Press and Publication Administration. This alignment serves to promote sector growth and bolster cultural exchange between the peoples of Saudi Arabia and China.
Moreover, this program underscores the Ministry of Culture's commitment to advancing international cultural exchange, a strategic objective in alignment with Saudi Vision 2023.
