Riyadh, September 18, 2024, Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on the nation’s remarkable advancement in the United Nations' E-Government Development Index (EGDI) 2024.
In this year's index, Saudi Arabia advanced to fourth place in the Online Service Index (OSI), secured the second position among Group of Twenty (G20) countries, and attained the top spot in the region. Globally, the Kingdom moved up to sixth place and ranked second among G20 nations in the EGDI index. Additionally, Riyadh achieved third place among global cities and first in the region in the Local Online Service Index (LOSI).
Alswaha underscored that the Kingdom's notable progress in these rankings was made possible by unwavering support from the leadership and empowerment from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. The minister also lauded these accomplishments as a reflection of the collective efforts of all government entities and employees in the government digital transformation sector.
