Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Addresses BRICS Leaders on Gaza Situation

Riyadh, November 21, 2023, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, leading the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation at the Extraordinary Joint Meeting of BRICS Leaders, delivered a speech focused on the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza. The meeting, held via video conference, gathered leaders from BRICS nations and invited members.


In his speech, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of South Africa for hosting the summit and inviting Saudi Arabia to participate.


Addressing the grave situation in Gaza, the Crown Prince emphasized the need for a collective effort to halt the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in the region. He condemned the brutal crimes against civilians, including the destruction of infrastructure, and called for decisive solutions. The Crown Prince categorically rejected the military operations that have led to the loss of innocent lives, demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities and the establishment of humanitarian corridors for international organizations to provide aid to civilians.


Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman outlined the Kingdom's relentless efforts in assisting and protecting civilians in Gaza, including providing humanitarian and relief aid by air and sea. He highlighted the success of an urgent fundraising campaign, which has collected over half a billion SAR. The Crown Prince also referred to the extraordinary joint Arab and Islamic summit held in Riyadh on November 11, 2023, where decisions were made to denounce the Israeli aggression and call for immediate humanitarian aid delivery.


Reiterating Saudi Arabia's steadfast stance, the Crown Prince emphasized that security and stability in Palestine can only be achieved through implementing international resolutions, particularly those related to the two-state solution. He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, commending BRICS for their role in supporting the Palestinian people.


Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman concluded by thanking the attending leaders and expressing hope that the summit would achieve its noble goals in addressing the critical situation in Gaza.
