Riyadh, December 26, 2023, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired a Cabinet session where several key matters were discussed and decisions were made.
The Cabinet received briefings on recent talks between Saudi officials and counterparts from various countries, aiming to strengthen cooperation and coordination for common interests and advance international efforts.
The situation in the Palestinian territories was addressed, with the Cabinet expressing appreciation for the Security Council's decision to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza. It called on the international community to fulfill its obligations and urgently put an end to violations by the Israeli occupation forces, including the killing and forced displacement of civilians.
The Cabinet expressed support for the newly established roadmap aimed at bolstering the peace process in Yemen, emphasizing the Kingdom's continued support for Yemen and the need to encourage Yemeni parties to engage in dialogue for a comprehensive and lasting political solution under UN supervision.
The achievements of the national economy in the current year, along with plans, programs, and development projects contributing to the comprehensive economic development of Saudi Arabia and the goals of Vision 2030, were reviewed.
The Cabinet commended government agencies' progress, as indicated in the Digital Transformation Index for 2023 and the Kingdom's ranking second among G20 countries in the ICT Development Index issued by the International Telecommunication Union.
Several decisions were made during the session, including approving memoranda of understanding in the field of energy with Turkey and the Netherlands, authorizing the minister of justice to sign a draft memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and approving memoranda of understanding with Iraq, Argentina, and Switzerland, among other decisions.
Additionally, legislation governing contracts with companies without regional headquarters in the Kingdom and with other involved parties was approved.
