Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman meets Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at WEF

Riyadh, April 30, 2024, On Monday, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas during the World Economic Forum (WEF) special meeting. The discussion focused on the escalating military situation and deteriorating conditions in Gaza, posing threats to civilian lives and regional security and stability.

During the meeting, the Crown Prince underscored the Kingdom's proactive efforts in engaging with international and regional stakeholders to de-escalate the ongoing crisis and prevent its escalation across the region. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's staunch opposition to the forced displacement of Palestinians, emphasizing the Kingdom's unwavering support for Palestinians' rights to dignity, fulfillment of aspirations, and the pursuit of a just and enduring peace.

In attendance at the meeting were key officials including Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and National Security Adviser; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance; Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan, President of General Intelligence; and Nayef bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, Saudi Ambassador to Jordan and non-resident Ambassador to Palestine. From the Palestinian side, attendees included Majed Faraj, Head of the General Intelligence Service; Bassem Al-Agha, Palestinian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; along with several senior officials.

The meeting reflects Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering dialogue, cooperation, and finding peaceful resolutions to regional challenges, particularly those affecting Palestinian interests and the broader Middle East region.
