Riyadh, September 25, 2023, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of Soudah Development, has unveiled the masterplan for the transformation of Soudah and sections of Rijal Almaa into Soudah Peaks. This luxurious mountain tourism destination, situated 3,015 meters above sea level on Saudi Arabia's highest peak, is nestled within a remarkable natural and cultural setting in the Aseer region of southwestern Saudi Arabia.
The project represents a vital component of the Public Investment Fund (PIF)'s efforts to diversify the Saudi economy by expanding key sectors such as tourism, hospitality, and entertainment, all while supporting the Aseer development strategy.
HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as the Chairman of Soudah Development's Board of Directors, described Soudah Peaks as a groundbreaking luxury mountain tourism destination that offers an unprecedented living experience while preserving the region's natural environment, cultural heritage, and historical richness. The project aligns strategically with the goals of Vision 2030, which aim to expand tourism and entertainment, foster economic growth, attract investments, contribute significantly to the Kingdom's cumulative GDP (SAR29 billion+), and generate numerous direct and indirect job opportunities.
The Crown Prince emphasized the commitment to global environmental preservation and resource conservation, highlighting Soudah Peaks' role in diversifying national income sources and building a robust economy that attracts both local and global investments.
Soudah Peaks is poised to become a significant addition to Saudi Arabia's tourism sector, placing the Kingdom prominently on the global tourism map while celebrating its rich culture and heritage. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the beauty of Soudah Peaks, immerse themselves in its cultural and historical heritage, and experience the genuine hospitality of the local community. The destination promises unforgettable experiences amidst lush greenery above the clouds.
The ambitious project aims to provide high-end luxurious hospitality services to more than two million visitors annually by 2033. The masterplan is designed to reflect local traditional and architectural styles while promoting the cultural and landscape heritage of the region. Soudah Peaks will comprise six unique development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock, each offering a range of world-class facilities, including hotels, luxury mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment and commercial attractions, as well as outdoor activities focused on sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.
By 2033, Soudah Development aims to deliver 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space for Soudah Peaks. The project will be developed in three phases, with phase one expected to be completed in 2027, featuring 940 hotel keys, 391 residential units, and 32,000 square meters of retail space.
Covering an expansive area of over 627 square kilometers, Soudah Peaks is dedicated to preserving the environment, with less than 1% of the land allocated for construction. Soudah Development adheres to rigorous sustainability standards and contributes to the Saudi Green Initiative.
