Dr. Mohammed Altamimi, Governor of Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST), contributed to a panel discussion during the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum at COP28 in Dubai. Emphasizing the significance of space technologies in addressing climate challenges, Altamimi noted that over 60% of climate variables can be monitored through satellites, enabling proactive measures. He highlighted CST's efforts in sustainable regulations for the ICT and space sector, leading to Saudi Arabia's G5 classification in the ITU’s Digital Regulatory Maturity Index. Altamimi also stressed technical innovations' role in bridging the digital divide and affirmed CST's commitment to supporting national innovations for digital sustainability and climate action.
