CST Joins Forces with DSA and ITU to Drive Digital Sustainability at COP28

Ahmed Saleh

In a strategic move toward fostering digital sustainability, the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) has officially become a part of the Digital Sustainability Alliance (DSA) in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The announcement, made in the presence of ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin during the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai, signals a commitment to exploring digital solutions for climate challenges.

The DSA and ITU alliance seeks to create opportunities for partnerships and enhance collaboration within the communications and technology community. The objective is to address climate challenges by transitioning to digital infrastructure that supports sustainable environmental solutions. CST, in a press release, outlined its goals of developing sustainable digital solutions, implementing regulations for a circular economy to reduce carbon emissions, and fostering an eco-friendly digital infrastructure through cooperation with government and private sector partners, as well as UN organizations.
