Riyadh, December 27, 2023, The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) recently released its "GameMode" report for the third quarter of 2023, shedding light on the performance of telecom service providers in Saudi Arabia concerning popular online games. The report showcased a notable 38% improvement in the overall performance of online games compared to the same period in 2022.
One key revelation in the report was the impressive increase in download speeds for online games, surpassing 98% of the announced speeds of fixed internet packages across various gaming platforms in Saudi Arabia. "Mobily" and "Salam" emerged as leaders in download speed performance for PlayStation games by 100%, while "Mobily" dominated XBOX with a 99% lead and achieved a perfect score of 100% on STEAM.
The report also highlighted the average response time in eight popular games, including Call of Duty, FIFA, Apex Legends, VALORANT, OVERWATCH2, Rocket League, Battlefield, and Halo Infinite. "stc," "Mobily," and "Zain" exhibited high-performance levels in Among Us. "STC" claimed the top spot in six games: Fortnite, Counter-Strike, Dota2, World of Warcraft, Rainbow Six Siege, and League of Legends, whereas "Mobily" excelled in PUBG and PUBG MOBILE.
In addition to performance insights, the report provided valuable guidelines for enhancing the quality of Internet connections for online gaming. It also offered recommendations for optimizing home network setups and improving the efficiency of network devices. Moreover, the report encouraged participation in the "GameMode" initiative, emphasizing the importance of registering for a "Meqyas fixed internet" device to assess the internet performance of popular apps and online games.
