Riyadh, August 27, 2023, The Space Data Regulations Platform and Application Document for Obtaining a Permit to Provide Space Data Platform Services, which aim to establish the regulatory environment for the space sector and attract investments to contribute to the growth of the GDP, as well as increase the effectiveness of space data governance, are open for public comment through the Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST). Through the release of these two documents, according to CST, any entity attempting to create a marketplace for space data, as well as collect and process satellite images, remote sensing data, orbital data, weather data, and astronomy data received from satellite operators, can learn more in order to apply for a license. The network also links researchers, organizations looking for space data-based solutions, technical solution and application developers, satellite operators, and others. CST emphasized that the Guidelines and Requirements for Entities Interested in Obtaining a License as well as the Obligations of Relevant Parties to Ensure User Rights and Data Security are included in the Application Document for Obtaining a Permit to Provide Space Data Platform Services. In order to uphold its commitment to openness and clarity in working with all pertinent entities, CST invites all interested parties and stakeholders to provide their comments, observations, and ideas regarding the materials.
