CST, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Sign MoU in Regulatory and Digital Fields

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) of Saudi Arabia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India's Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) to enhance cooperation in regulatory and digital sectors during the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly in New Delhi.

Riyadh, October 17, 2024 – In a significant move to bolster international cooperation in the regulatory and digital sectors, the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) of Saudi Arabia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The announcement was made today through a CST press release, highlighting the commitment of both nations to enhance their collaboration in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.


The MoU was formally executed by CST Governor Dr. Mohammed Altamimi and TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti during the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), taking place from October 15 to 24, 2024, in New Delhi, India. The signing ceremony was further graced by the presence of Indian Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, underscoring the significance of this partnership at a high-profile international forum.


This agreement aims to facilitate a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the CST and TRAI, focusing on the integration of regulatory technology (RegTech) and the conduct of joint studies in crucial areas such as digital infrastructure and the principles governing digital regulation.
