Cultural and Art Events Complement International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition


Riyadh, October 3, 2024 — The highly anticipated International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2024, organized by the Saudi Falcons Club, has opened its doors in Malham, north of Riyadh. Running from October 3 to October 12, the exhibition presents a diverse range of activities for visitors of all ages, showcasing the Kingdom’s rich cultural, artistic, and heritage traditions, with a special emphasis on falconry.


One of the exhibition’s highlights is the digital museum Shalayil, an immersive educational experience that offers an in-depth exploration of the world of falcons. This interactive exhibit provides visitors with a comprehensive understanding of falcons’ significance in Arab culture and heritage, delving into the unique traits of various falcon species while also offering insights into Saudi heritage and traditions.


Another notable exhibit is the Al-Ahsa Oasis Museum, which celebrates one of Saudi Arabia’s most famous tourist destinations, the Al-Ahsa Oasis. The museum highlights its prestigious designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site and its recognition by the Guinness World Records as the largest palm oasis globally, boasting over 2.5 million palm trees. Visitors can explore the region’s rich archaeological and cultural heritage, gaining a deeper appreciation for this natural wonder.


For younger visitors, the exhibition offers the Future Falconer section, a 1,000-square-meter space dedicated to children. This area blends education with heritage, providing a captivating and engaging learning experience designed to introduce children to the ancient tradition of falconry through fun, interactive activities.


The Heritage Weaving Pavilion is another key attraction, where skilled craftswomen from various regions of Saudi Arabia showcase traditional handmade items. This exhibit shines a light on the country’s artisanal heritage, offering visitors a glimpse into the intricate craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.


Adding to the artistic ambiance of the event, the Live Art Gallery features works by twenty Saudi artists, who will display a total of thirty art pieces over the course of the exhibition. These captivating works tell the stories of falcons and falconers, celebrating their deep connection to Saudi culture and history. The gallery invites visitors to embark on an artistic journey into the world of falconry, with paintings that capture the beauty and heritage of this age-old tradition.
