Riyadh, February 07, 2024, The inaugural edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival, organized by the Saudi Camel Racing Federation, is set to commence tomorrow and will run until the 18th of February. Hosted at Al-Janadriyah Square in Riyadh, the festival will showcase the participation of 2,087 camel owners presenting a total of 6,869 camels from seven nations, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and the United States.
The event promises an impressive prize pool exceeding SAR 70 million, distributed across 224 rounds of competition. Notably, participants will vie for the prestigious Sword of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques points award, offering a lucrative prize of SAR 1.5 million for the champion.
The festival will feature two main races: a 5 km camel race for men and a 2 km camel race for women, each offering an exhilarating display of skill and competition amidst the majestic backdrop of Al-Janadriyah Square.
