Côte d'Ivoire's Minister of Interior and Security Appreciates Kingdom Collaboration on the Makkah Route Initiative


General Vagondo Diomande, Minister of Interior and Security of Côte d'Ivoire, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with the Saudi government to simplify the Hajj pilgrimage process from Côte d'Ivoire.



He emphasized the importance of Côte d'Ivoire being included as a beneficiary of the Makkah Route Initiative for a second consecutive year.


General Diomande expressed satisfaction and enthusiasm for the cooperation efforts between Saudi Arabia and Côte d'Ivoire to enhance the pilgrims' experience.




On June 3, 2024, in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire General Vagondo Diomande, Minister of Interior and Security of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, expressed his gratitude for the progress that has been made in the collaboration with the Saudi government to simplify the process of performing the Hajj pilgrimage from Côte d'Ivoire this year. He emphasized the importance of the Kingdom's decision to include Côte d'Ivoire as a beneficiary of the Makkah Route Initiative for a second consecutive year. During a speech that was presented to the pilgrims at the hall that was dedicated for the Makkah Route Initiative at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan, General Diomande graciously recognized the presence of Saad Al-Qathami, the Saudi Ambassador to Côte d'Ivoire. He expressed his satisfaction and enthusiasm for the cooperation efforts between the Saudi and Ivorian sides, aimed at enhancing the pilgrims' experience.


General Diomande emphasized the commitment of the President of Ivory Coast, Alassane Ouattara, to overcome any difficulties that may arise during the Hajj voyage and to initiate cooperation with the Kingdom to carry out the Makkah Route Initiative.General Diomande expressed his overall happiness with the selection of Côte d'Ivoire as the single country in Africa to host the project. The program provides effective services to pilgrims, such as facilitating entry procedures into the Kingdom from the international airport in Abidjan and directing pilgrims to their allotted dwellings in Makkah and Madinah.
