Jeddah, December 31, 2023, Anticipation is building for the fifth edition of the Dakar Rally 2024 in Saudi Arabia, set to commence on January 5. Competitors have completed their final preparations for the 46th edition of this ultimate challenge in the world of motorsports and rally racing, hosted by the Kingdom for the fifth consecutive year.
The rally will kick off from the city of AlUla on January 5 and conclude in Yanbu on January 19. The event will feature elite drivers and riders from around the world who are ready to tackle the challenging rally.
This year, participants will start the rally with a preliminary stage from the starting camp in AlUla before navigating through various cities in the Kingdom. The route includes Al-Hanakiyah, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Salamiya, Al-Hofuf, Shubaytah, Riyadh, Ha’il, and Yanbu, covering a total distance exceeding 7,891 km, with 4,827 km dedicated to timed special stages.
Ten Saudi drivers are participating in the competitions this year, representing various categories. Yazeed Al-Rajhi will compete in the "T1" category, and Ibrahim Al-Muhana in the "Stock" category. Saleh Al-Saif, Dania Akeel, and Mashael Al-Obaidan will participate in the "T3" category. Yasir bin Seaidan and Maha Al-Hamali are competing in the "T4" category. Tariq Al-Rammah is participating in the "T5" category, Abdulhaleem Al-Mogheera in the "Motorcycles" category, and Hani Al-Noumesi in the "Quads" category. The event promises to showcase the skills and endurance of these talented drivers in one of the most challenging rallies globally.
