Kerala, January 22, 2025 – The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by the Religious Attaché in India, successfully organized the third edition of the Holy Quran and Sunnah Competition in Southern India. The event took place at the esteemed Darul Huda Islamic University in Malappuram, Kerala, and was graced by the presence of Sheikh Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anazi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
The competition, which has become a significant annual event, saw a remarkable turnout this year, with 1,022 participants, both boys and girls, competing across various categories. This year’s participation marks a continued growth in interest and enthusiasm for the competition, which aims to foster a deeper understanding of the Holy Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, through the study and recitation of sacred texts, as well as the practice of the Sunnah. The competition draws participants from various regions of Southern India, further strengthening the bonds of cultural and religious ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and India.
Throughout the event, contestants demonstrated exceptional knowledge and skills in memorization, recitation, and interpretation, with the competition serving as a platform to encourage youth to engage with the Quranic teachings and the prophetic traditions. The ceremony concluded with an awards presentation where Sheikh Dr. Awad bin Sabti Al-Anazi honored the winners, recognizing their outstanding achievements and encouraging all participants to continue their studies of the Quran and Sunnah.
