Makkah, January 29, 2024, The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque demonstrates unwavering dedication to the Grand Mosque, making continuous efforts to provide exceptional services to visitors, pilgrims, and Umrah performers.
The authority assumes a comprehensive role in overseeing all maintenance work, meticulously preparing plans and studies, and executing maintenance tasks with the highest standards of excellence and precision.
As part of these efforts, the authority conducts inspections on a vast scale, covering 8,000 loudspeakers, 120,000 lighting units, 222 escalators, 22 elevators, 299 fire extinguishing units, water tanks, and 3,534 toilets. Additionally, there is a focus on sanitizing the Zamzam water cooling system. Workers ensure the readiness and smooth operation of critical systems, including the mosque sound system, fire alarm, and standby power plant.
To maintain the Grand Holy Mosque in optimal condition, the authority diligently follows up on the execution of weekly, monthly, and annual scheduled maintenance work. This proactive approach ensures that the mosque, its surrounding squares, and auxiliary buildings function seamlessly. The entire effort is guided by a master plan laid out annually by the general administration of operation and maintenance, underscoring the authority's commitment to upholding the sanctity and functionality of this sacred space.
