DAMMAM — The transfer of winger Demarai Gray from Everton to Al-Ettifaq Club, a contender for Saudi Professional League supremacy, was officially revealed on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the agreement was formally signed with Gray, whose move Al-Ettifaq secured for a sum of $10 million.
Gray, on the other hand, will make $5 million a year for the course of his four-year contract with the team.
The 27-year-old Jamaican joins former Liverpool midfielders Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum as the team's third notable acquisition this summer under head coach Steven Gerrard.
The management of Al-Ettifaq is also preparing to make public the signing of right-back Rady Al-Otaibi from Al-Hazm and is preparing for a probable free transfer of their goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Owaisheer to Al-Qadisiyah owing to the likely purchase of Amin Bakhashwain from Al-Nassr.
The club anticipates announcing the transfer of Faisal Al-Ghamdi to Al-Ittihad in the next few hours, subject to final approvals and an SR47 million cash offer. On Thursday, the final day of the Saudi transfer market, Al-Ahli is also vying to alter the direction of this deal, making it an interesting day.
