Makkah, April 16, 2024, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, recently presided over a Central Hajj Committee meeting aimed at evaluating matters about Umrah and Hajj, as directed by Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of the Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.
During the meeting, Prince Saud bin Mishaal conveyed the Makkah Governor's greetings to all individuals involved in facilitating the Ramadan Umrah season. He commended their diligent efforts, which significantly contributed to the successful execution of operational plans aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of visitors and Umrah performers.
Prince Saud highlighted the significant impact of coordinated efforts among relevant authorities, which fostered a secure environment for the unprecedented number of visitors to the Grand Mosque this year.
The committee conducted a thorough review of the agencies' performance during the Ramadan season. This included a detailed assessment of transportation services, with 2,260 buses transporting 61 million passengers to and from the Grand Mosque. The meeting also focused on ambulance and health services, noting the absence of epidemics, as well as catering and nutrition services, which distributed over 20 million meals across various locations in Makkah.
Additionally, the committee deliberated on ongoing plans for the remainder of the Umrah season, evaluated achievements thus far, and explored avenues to enhance them. Discussions also encompassed identifying potential issues, implementing preventive measures, and outlining plans and preparations for the upcoming Hajj season in 1445 AH.
