Nouakchott, October 19, 2024 – Sheikh Suleiman bin Fahd Al-Khamees, Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs for Mosques Affairs and Secretary-General of Local and International Holy Quran Competitions, visited the House of the Holy Quran in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, on Friday. The House of the Holy Quran is an institution affiliated with the Mauritanian Ministry of Islamic Affairs and plays a pivotal role in promoting Quranic studies and activities in the country.
During his visit, Sheikh Al-Khamees met with Sidi Abdelkader Tfeil, Head of the House of the Holy Quran, along with other prominent members of the institution. He was given a comprehensive overview of the center's activities, which include Quranic education, research, and services that facilitate the study and recitation of the Holy Quran. Al-Khamees also had the opportunity to review several copies of the Holy Quran that are central to the center’s educational and religious efforts.
Sidi Abdelkader Tfeil expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s contributions to the spread and support of the Holy Quran, particularly through the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran in Madinah. He emphasized the importance of the complex’s work, not only in printing copies of the Quran but also in producing audio editions in multiple languages to reach Muslims around the world.
This visit underlines Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to fostering Islamic knowledge and supporting institutions that promote the teachings of the Holy Quran. The Kingdom’s efforts, especially through the King Fahd Complex, have had a far-reaching impact, aiding Quranic education and accessibility on a global scale.
