
Riyadh, March 23, 2025 – The Digital Regulatory Academy (DRA) launched its first executive training program of 2025 titled "Evolving Digital Regulations: AI’s Impact on the Digital Economy: Artificial Intelligence and Its Impact on the Economy," aimed at raising awareness of AI regulation and developing strategies to balance innovation with compliance in digital regulation.
The program took place in Paris, France, and Brussels, Belgium, with 19 leaders from MCIT+ participating, including members of the National Regulations Committee and officials from telecommunications service providers.
This 5-day program focused on regulating the digital economy and AI, analyzing key trends, establishing a regulatory framework for digital laws and policies, and learning about regulatory structures in Saudi Arabia and the European Union. It also covered the economic aspects of regulation, AI risks, and examined regulatory models from countries like the United States and China.
The program explored best practices in AI supervision and the role of regulatory bodies in governing emerging technologies. It included practical workshops on AI regulation strategies in Saudi Arabia and visits to specialized European Union institutions.
Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of how to develop regulatory policies that foster innovation while ensuring societal protection.
The DRA initiative aims to enhance the national workforce’s efficiency, develop leaders in digital regulations, foster alignment between regulators and global institutes, and elevate local services through strategic partnerships to benefit from best practices and expertise.
