Diriyah, November 5, 2023, Diriyah Season, a much-anticipated event, is poised to commence in December, promising a captivating array of activities and experiences that delve into the living heritage of Diriyah, known as 'The City of Earth' and the historic birthplace of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Spanning various areas of Diriyah, encompassing parks, wadis, iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites like At-Turaif and Bujairi Terrace, as well as fine dining destinations, the 2023/24 Season is all set to deliver an unparalleled authentic experience. It will fuse arts, culture, live performances, and immersive experiences to vividly showcase nearly six centuries of history and heritage in a compelling and entertaining manner.
This Season aims to satiate the cultural curiosity of visitors through a unique three-month calendar of events designed to cater to a diverse audience. The program includes live musical and theatrical performances, the highly anticipated Diriyah E-Prix championship organized by the Ministry of Sport, a revitalized edition of 'Layali Diriyah,' immersive art installations and exhibitions, top-notch culinary experiences, and outdoor activities like horseback riding, camping, and stargazing.
The theme for this year's Season celebrates Diriyah's origin story and pays homage to Al Awja, which symbolizes the people of the bend (Wadi Hanifah) and serves as a unifying call for all Saudis to come together and celebrate their shared culture and identity.
While Diriyah is a cornerstone of Saudi cultural identity and national pride, it also plays a pivotal role in Saudi Arabia's vision for its future as a distinctive cultural capital. Located at the heart of the First Saudi State's birthplace, Diriyah is a city designed with a focus on people, where individuals from all walks of life converge to experience the unique Saudi way of life.
