Donia Abu Taleb: First Saudi female taekwondo athlete at Paris Olympics

Riyadh, March 15, 2024, Saudi taekwondo athlete Donia Abu Taleb has secured her spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics in the 49-kg weight category, marking a historic milestone as the first Saudi female athlete to directly qualify for the Olympics through the Asian qualifiers.

Abu Taleb's exceptional performance throughout the qualifying rounds solidified her position in the prestigious event. This achievement adds to her impressive track record of success at both Asian and global levels, including her nomination for the bronze medal globally and in Asia from 2022-2023.

Brigadier General Shaddad Al-Omari, the president of the Saudi Taekwondo Federation, expressed immense pride in Abu Taleb's qualification for the Olympics.
